Rosacea
Services
Rosacea is a chronic but treatable skin condition that affects the central face, and often has periods of flare-ups and remissions. It typically appears at any age, but typically begins after the age of 30 as flushing or redness of the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead. With time the redness tends to become ruddier and more persistent, and blood vessels may appear. If untreated, inflammatory bumps and pimples develop, and in severe cases (particularly in men) the nose may grow swollen and bumpy.
The cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure. Sings of rosacea are persistent redness that does not go away and skin thickening. Signs of rosacea include small red bumps or pus-filed pimples, prominent and visible small blood vessels, eye irritation (ocular rosacea), burning or stinging sensation on the face, swelling of the face, and dry or rough skin. A gentle skin care routine and protecting the skin from sun exposure (SPF 30 or higher) can help control rosacea.
Treatment options need to tailored to each case, but include oral or topical medications and BBL HEROic laser.
